Rushing

So with all the controversy over Coach K speaking out against students rushing the court after a big win, I felt like there are some very important issues being left off the table in the debate.
First off the players safety…. Not only the loosing team but the winning team. A player, coach, staff member could easily be injured on either team. If the winning team’s own fans are injured then who is to say the players won’t get hurt. Some of these players have NBA careers ahead of them and this is putting that in danger.
Second is fans safety. Yes I know they are putting themselves at risk. I just really think the first time someone gets trampled on or crushed they might think twice.
Third is the home college’s liability. Do you not think that these colleges that allow rushing the court are not responsible if someone is hurt? I also am sure that their own fan would be the first to sue.
Finally I am just really tired of ever team that Duke plays and their fans treating it like their own personal Super Bowl. Do they not realize they are just proving they think Duke is as great as I do. It’s one of the only home games they sell out. So….Maryland,Virginia, Miami, and NC State fans, great job you beat Duke! But then you cheapened your argument about how awful duke is by running in the court and acting like it was the best day of your life. Duke fans only celebrate like that when we win Championships or maybe Carolina.
Yes Duke fans may act smug, think they are a better fan than the next teams, and think that Duke is the best Basketball team that ever was or ever will be. We hold ourselves to the same high standards that Coach K holds his players. And that is the difference!!

Favorite moment in history of Duke basketball! Man how I miss that team
